Liquid Metal

A dress made of Mercury?  Me thinks this could be the new lurex...it's like the slinky of dresses; retro, fluid and fun.

Grunge

Grungey hat, no make-up and leather jacket....this girl is so understated and cool it almost hurts.

Oh Olins

Shot by Josh Olins, this photo just shouts 1999...only that CK t-shirt is a million times more cool when photographed by the infallible Mr Olins.  Don't no what it is about this pic but something really draws you in.

Love in an Asylum

I have no idea who this chica is, who shot her, or who it's for, but I just fell in love with so had to put it up.  Just love her slightly deranged look and the insane corset bra has some kind of resemblance to a straight jacket which adds to the whole love in an asylum vibe..

I'm cold...

...and want to be hot, so this editorial by Laurie Bartley for Vogue Nippon in 2008 makes me both wildly jealous and whimsical.  Karlie Kloss looks amazing but it's not so much the styling I love but more the slightly tacky, overcrowded beach location complete with inflatable rubber rings and plaid sun lounger cushions.

What's Up Doc

Maybe it stems from a mild obsession I have for Alice in Wonderland/ Watership Down, but I've fallen under the spell of Bunny Ears (preferably by Maison michel a la Olsen)- just the funnest, punchiest accessory around.  And I think it's the Hugh Hefner in me, but there's something about the ears that are, dare I say it, quite hot... It's probably a good job I'm not a fashion editor as I would be horribly annoying and feature them in absolutely every story right now.  Somehow I think I would get laughed out of the pub and all the way home if I donned some myself but it's always nice to pretend.  But if anyone else is keen, perhaps we should make a pact and really make an effort to make them the new comdey antlers this Christmas...

Inspired

Scot Schuman has such an amazing eye for style but what i really love is that he sees style everywhere, and not just in the overtly fashionable.  I love the fact he's recently posted images of cowgirls and boys and a homeless man on his much coveted blog The Satorialist, proving his incredible appreciation of ascetisim.  These are just a few of my favourite shots up on his blog right now...my current favourite muse from the site is Amir Toos (crazy hair, caveman beard and impeccable taste in a nutshell).  I have a sneaky suspicion Scott might be slightly taken with him too as he's recently posted an insightful Q&A with Amir as well as numerous street style shots.  But can you blame him...?  Even his name is cool.  I also nearly melted when I saw that the pic second from top is named 'Garnace at work'...surely the most relevant and coveted fashion couple on the planet right now?

Erin

I do think Erin is probably the only person in the whole world to pull off a leopard print trilby since Boy George (and Eddie from Ab Fab) and she really does nail it.  I love the way this pic has the date in the corner-reminds me of the hundreds of photos I had developed when I was at school, all of which were complete with red eyes and peace signs.  It might be a lot more cool, but this shot of Erin has still got the same kind of unprofessional, spontaneous vibe as all those pics I spent hours in Boots getting developed...

The Wang for Love Magazine

Hooker heels and Fro's....you can always really on Mr Wang for some cool.

David Shama

Found this story shot by david Shama on my new great blog find Little Plastic Horses and I am in love with it...Favoruite shot is second from the bottom.  It's so simple there's almost nothing to it but just love the vibe of it.  It also showcases by favourite Chloe booties (I jsut snapped up Office's copy cat pair the other day) which makes the story even more perfect.

Fantasy Christmas List...Rucksack is realisitic, the rest not so, although I am giving the Ruth Orlin ring a lot of airtime in my house at the mo so fingers crossed.  Failing father christmas I might even treat myself to it, needs must and all.  It took me a while to get Fashion Toast's Rumi's love of the rucksack but as soon as I saw this leather Asos number I was totally swayed.  And the boots and jacket don't really need an introduction...Acne and Proenza Schouler-need I say more?
