Stud Love

Is it wrong to have a little soft spot for these Jimmy Choo for H&M brogues?  I'd all but written off Tamara Mellon's collaboration with the brand after seeing a few of the shoes and cluthes (a bit plasticy and, dare I say it, cheap feeling)  but when I saw these in Grazia last week I had to do a double take...faux snakeskin plus studs is a winner with me.

Another crush..

Crushing again on another model and this time its Miranda Kerr...I don't know whether its her recent love of Isabel Marant and Chelsea boots that's made me sit up and take even more notice of her but this girl is a real favourite of mine at the mo.  Always been a big fan of Aussie style and Miranda's reminding me just why..plus, models everywhere seem to be heading to a funeral and sufering froms scurvey, and whilst I'm a big fan of the goth look, its nice to see a glossy-haired rosy-cheeked model amidst the sea SAD syndrome sufferers.  Makes me want to just jump on a plane to Syndey.....

Acne

Some of the looks from their spring summer 2010 are a bit weird but I think these three are spot on.  Love love those grey jeans with metallic knee patches, especially when teamed with tan shoes.

Ernest's Girl

Dree Hemmingway has just got amazing style...being the great grand daughter of the great American writer Ernest Hemmingway, she's inherited that all American mega watt smile but her style is a mix of relaxed southern nuance and left bank chic.  The epitome of glossy meets grunge..(and no I'm not going to say 'glunge').  And whilst i'm not going to be reaching for the fluro hair dye, respect to her for the brave choice of pink highlights at Paris fashion week-they say fortune favours the brave and style is no exception.  Definitely the new model-muse...

Ladies in Red

The Cobrasnake girls reaffirm fashion's, not to mention men's, obsession with a scarlet woman...Chris De Burgh eat your heart out.

Colour Me In

If I was one to colour block, this is just how I'd like to do it...such a  gorgeous, shiny, sunny look that seems really timeless.  I think it's the glossy locks and just general Italian panache that gives this look real longevity though, both of which I sadly lack.

Isabel Marant

If you go by Isabel Marant's Spring Summer 2010 collection, it's out with glunge goth and full steam ahead with boho embellishment.  Goan Pirate meets Little House on the Praire was the vibe of the collection, and the bright colours, loose shapes and feather accessories were a welcome relief to the hard silhouettes that have been evrywhere recently.  Marant's autum winter collection was my favourite collection of the whole season and her spring summer show definitely didn't disappoint.  Shoulder pads and hareem pants were still key to the show's looks, but Isabel Marant was one of the few collections that actually spoke of summer, in fact it positively shouted 'grab your surfboard'!  It was almost a prettier, more exotic extension of Proenza Schouler's graphic 'surf's up' collection, only with a little less edge and lot more free spirit.  You can't help but fall in love with the little nude dress Natasha Poly wore down the runway and the metallic notes to the skirts and baggy pantaloons.  My only disappointment was a distinct lack of a new version of the infamous studded, pyramid heeled ankle boots that stole the show in the Autumn Winter collection...looks like calf high are the way forward for summer-a daunting prospect for anyone who, like me, is a short ass with chicken legs.

Chloe

Chloe Seivgny does it again...love the nude dress, love the fierce opening ceremony shoes.  So simple and yet ticks all the boxes.  Quick post today as in local wi-fi cafe whilst food in the oven at home, so got to dash so as not to burn the house down! x
